Chargeback claims
If you initiate a charge-back claim with your bank/credit card company without contacting us first to resolve your issue, we reserve the right to invalidate the purchases in question and/or excuse you from the studio.
We are reasonable people who understand life happens - please contact us to talk through your circumstances. Chargeback claims are expensive, waste precious administration time, hurt nonprofit businesses like ours with fees, and could lead to us losing our ability to accept bank/credit card payments.
Often, a simple email to us will set your account straight and is far easier for both parties to manage.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds once payment has been made. In some instances, we may be able to apply payment to another service. Please contact hello@ascendancestudios.org or text 425-256-2246 for any questions.

Attendance
Please arrive with plenty of time to check-in, change, and put away your belongings before your classes. Warm-up is an integral part of class and is necessary for the safety of our students. Students that arrive more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to participate, though they are welcome to stay and observe the rest of class.
Series Enrollment Changes
We require a minimum of 3 students to hold a Series class. If we do not have 3 students enrolled within 72 hours of a series start date, we will work with those enrolled to adjust the start date or move them into a different series.Up to 72 hours before your series begin, we can accommodate requests to move you into a new series (if room is available). When we are within 72 hours of the series starting, we will not be able to move you to a new series. Please ensure you can attend all dates in your series and make it to the studio on time for your class.Should you need to miss a day of your series, we do offer 1/2 off a drop in class that you can schedule on your own. Please email Hello@ascendancestudios.org with questions, makeup class requests, or requests to make series schedule changes.
Studio Closure/class cancellations
Although rare, we do reserve the right to cancel classes and/or close the studio in the case of:
Extreme weather/storms or other emergencies that would render our facilities unusable/unsafe
Sudden illness or injury to our instructor where no substitute is readily available.
Closure due to state or local government mandates
Closure to evaluate viral risk or to sanitize the studio
In the event of a late cancellation from the studio, your class credit will be returned to your class package and you can register for another class as soon as we re-open.
What to wear/bring
For your first pole class, we recommend stretchy clothing that you feel comfortable moving around in.
For more intermediate and advanced pole classes, please wear shorts that allow your thighs to grip the pole.
For Lyra/Fabric classes, please wear form fitting and stretchy clothes that cover arms, legs, belly, and armpits.
Please do not wear tights with feet, jewelry, or clothing with zippers, buttons, or metal that could catch on fabric or scratch our poles.
Please bring a water bottle to re-hydrate. We have a drinking fountain in our shared hallway for refills.
Observation
In order to ensure the privacy and comfort of our students, all of our classes at Ascendance are closed to observation.
Minor Policy
We allow minors 16+ into our group classes with parent or guardian permission. Guardians will need to sign an additional waiver for their dependant. For anyone 16 and under, we’re happy to setup private lessons for you to learn your apparatus of choice. We will occasionally run youth focused classes or workshops - sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date with those announcements.
Filming and photography
Filming during class for personal use (e.g. at-home practice) is permitted with instructor permission. Filming and photography for public use (e.g. sharing on social media) is allowed with explicit consent of both the instructor and your classmates. We love seeing you share your progress and experience with the world, but ask you to please be considerate and respect the privacy of other students.
Studio Rentals
Studios Rentals are for our students who want personal practice space outside of a class setting.
You are always welcome to use the space for competition training or rehearsal for other pieces
Teaching private lessons is not permitted.
Any projects where you might personally benefit commercially or monetarily are not permitted during a studio rental (e.g. filming videos for tutorials, commercialized Youtube/Vimeo, hosting photoshoots etc).
If you plan to use the studio for any purpose other than your personal practice, please check with management to make any exceptions/arrangements.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are wonderful ways to get one on one attention to work towards your personal goals. We are more than happy to set them up for you with any one of our instructors to help you refine foundations, break down new tricks, get help with choreography, personal training, and more.
In order to protect our proprietary knowledge and our investment in our own instructors and curriculum, our policy is not to offer instructor training to those who intend to work or who do work at other studios. We are happy to teach skills and combos to anyone, but we will not train others how to teach in private lessons.
As we mature, we may one day add a training program or will bring in outside certification programs to help fill this need. Please contact Tara at Hello@ascendancestudios.org for questions.
Nondiscrimination statement
At Ascendance, our goal is to provide a safe and supportive learning environment where our students feel able to participate and express themselves through art regardless of their gender, race, color, religion, physical handicap, mental diagnosis, national or ethnic origin, social status, age, size, sexual orientation, or gender identification.
